Building upon HPS’ Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) framework, Mrs. Jill VanDenend was able to increase trauma-informed and trauma-responsive practices at Bauer Elementary through a grant from the HEF. Purchasing calming, relaxing, and coping tools for each classroom allows teachers to model, teach, and encourage students to self-regulate and manage their stress and emotions.
